Les was an All-State HS Player in Illinois, A Junior Olympic Gold Medalist, and a member of the '90     Olympic team until an injury cut his season short.  He attended the College of St. Francis in Joliet, IL, under the guidance of renowned coach Gordie Gillespie, where he was a 2-Time NAIA All-American and a runner-up in the National Championship in '89.  In '90, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 23rd round, where he declined and remained to finish his senior year.  In '91, the Kansas City Royals came calling in the 26th round, where he signed his first professional contract.

Les was voted the Royals Minor League Player of the Year in '93.  That same year, he was the MVP in the AA Midwest League All-Star game.  He enjoyed a 13-yr. professional career, also having stints with the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers.  He is active in hosting clinics throughout the midwest, is a public speaker, and is an analyst for 810WHB's "Baseball Tonight" pregame show for the Royals.  He also coaches the annual Royals Fantasy Camp in Surprise, AZ.

Currently the owner of The Swing Builder Baseball/Softball Org., he teaches many area youth all aspects of baseball and softball, and is a partner is the SB Lightning Softball Org.  As Senior Advisor & Evaluator with Midwest Sports Advisors, he is active in helping area student athletes achieve their goals in playing at the collegiate level through scholarships.

Les is married to his amazing bride Kristin (13 yrs.), and has 2 beautiful boys, Mack (8), and Tayt (4).  He resides in Greenwood, MO.
