Xavier is a two time state champion and knows how to win and prepare to win. Xavier is right in the middle of the lineup for the returning 2 time defending state champs and playing 3B every day. Former Major Leaguer Jason Conti was present for his workout and was impressed with Xavier's ability to move in all directions. Goes to his backhand comfortbly and throws it across with great accuracy. Can go to his left and handles slow rollers with no problem.. Possesses a strong and accurate arm to go along with soft hands and good footwork. Handles the short hop extremely well. Throwing mechanics are very reliable and is definitely a strong defensive player. Can also play SS, and has retunred to the mound for his senior season after a minor elbow procedure.
Xavier is currently the #2 hitter in Desert Ridge's lineup. He goes the other way very well. Has a good approach at the plate.Has a very quiet load, keeps his head still on the stride and his hands are in a good launching position. Stays inside the ball and stays tall through the swing. Although his intent is to drive the ball to the opposite field, can turn on the ball when it's inside. The last ball he hit during the workout was a homerun to left which shows his ability to hit to all fields.
Evaluators Jason Conti and Mike Masciangelo believe he is a Mid to low division 1 player, and can contribute immediately at a division 2 level.
